Evaluation of Japanese curry by mothers and their children
Every project we run is covered by confidentiality agreements. That is why this page describes the method, scope and deliverables, but does not identify the client, brand, product or date.
Challenge
A company in the food segment needed to understand how mothers and children aged 5 to 15 who consume or are familiar with Japanese curry perceive the product.
The challenge was to structure a study combining an in-person stage with deeper individual investigation, ensuring the participation of both mothers and children. Beyond careful participant selection, the project involved a test dynamic in an environment prepared for cooking the product, bringing the research experience closer to the real consumption context.
The operation also required a complete field structure in São Paulo, including a CLT room, an equipped kitchen and dedicated rooms for the individual interviews.
Methodology applied
- Recruitment of mothers of children aged 5 to 15 who consume or are familiar with Japanese curry
- 60 CLT cases, with 20 backup participants
- 5 in-depth interviews (IDIs), with no backups
- In-person interviews lasting 60 minutes
- IDIs conducted with mother and child together
- Field structure with a CLT room and an equipped kitchen for preparing the product
- Pre-task applied to participants before fieldwork
- Moderation of the IDIs and Japanese translation support
- Full management of recruitment, fieldwork, incentives, programming and data processing
