Perceptions of professionals, patients and caregivers on rare diseases
Every project we run is covered by confidentiality agreements. That is why this page describes the method, scope and deliverables, but does not identify the client, brand, product or date.
Challenge
A research project needed to understand different perspectives on two rare conditions.
The challenge involved hearing from the different audiences connected to those conditions, including healthcare professionals, patients, caregivers and payers. The research had to bring together perceptions from specialists across different medical fields, covering pediatricians, orthopedists, endocrinologists and geneticists.
Beyond the diversity of profiles, the project had a regional dimension, with interviews conducted in Brazil and Argentina. This required a recruitment and fieldwork operation able to serve different audiences and contexts while keeping the qualitative approach consistent.
Methodology applied
- Recruitment of healthcare professionals, patients, caregivers and payers according to the profiles defined for the study
- In-depth interviews (IDIs) conducted online
- Interviews lasting approximately 50 to 60 minutes, depending on the audience and format
- Geographic coverage in Brazil and Argentina
- Use of a recruitment screener and an interview guide
- Translation of the research materials
- Moderation of the interviews
- Transcription of the interviews in English
- Project management, including recruitment and incentives handling
